#CostaRica #travelinsurance #purchasetravellersinsurance **HONESTLY** as I write this NOV. 9th, am not sure this is the BEST option anymore. At the time, it was a great option because initially Costa Rica was trying to gouge you on the travel insurance, mandating their own insurance was the only insurance that would meet the entry requirement. Again, at the time, this was cheaper. NOW, I would encourage you to look around for cheaper options as I am sure they are out there.

If you want to visit Costa Rica you will need travellers insurance. Travel insurance is one of the requirements to enter Costa Rica at this time. When Costa Rica first announced travellers insurance as a requirement to enter, it could only be purchased from the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS) in Costa Rica and was very expensive. This did not go over well with tourists hoping to visit. Subsequently they changed the requirement and visitors/tourists were able to find/purchase there own travellers insurance. Problem was, most travel insurance found on the internet didn’t meet Costa Rica requirements of coverage. I have found the answer- a cost effective basic coverage that meets Costa Rica’s requirements. The irony is that this basic travellers insurance is also sold by INS. That is explained in the video, ‘Costa Rica Travel Insurance Requirement ANSWERED Where to Buy Basic Coverage for Costa Rica’. I can tell you, this took some doing to make this happen, so I hope it helps.
