Mercosur-Pacific Alliance dialogue: Informative talk with diplomatic corps

On Friday 21 April, the Undersecretary for Economic Integration with the Americas and MERCOSUR, Ambassador Daniel Raimondi, and the Undersecretary for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, Ambassador Olga Lila Roldán Vázquez, held an informative talk on the MERCOSUR-Pacific Alliance Dialogue for the diplomatic corps.

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministry presented Argentina’s view on the MERCOSUR-Pacific Alliance Dialogue and on other items on MERCOSUR’s current agenda. 

In this regard, the Ministerial Meeting between both blocs held on April 7 by Foreign Ministers and Ministers of Trade and Production of MERCOSUR and the Pacific Alliance was considered a milestone.

The Undersecretary highlighted the importance of boosting regional integration and giving value to Latin America. To such end, it was agreed that both MERCOSUR and the Pacific Alliance are important actors that are determined to work on strengthening the region by undertaking concrete activities regarding the items included in the recent roadmap, such as Trade Facilitation, Customs Cooperation, Trade Promotion and SMEs, and Regional Value Chains, among others.

The event was attended by Embassies of over 30 countries, which viewed the initiative to hold informative talks on the main issues of Argentine foreign policy as positive.
