Belgian business owners interested in business and investment opportunities in Argentina

Yesterday, the Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Horacio Reyser, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Kris Peeters, with whom he headed a working meeting attended by the Governor of the Province of Antwerp, Cathy Berx, and over twenty Belgian business owners interested in business and investment opportunities in Argentina, as well as in expanding cooperation opportunities in the ports and waterways sector.

The Argentina-Belgium Working Meeting, held at the Palacio San Martín, was also attended by the Secretary for Transport Management of the Argentine Ministry of Transport and authorities from the Argentine Undersecretariat for Ports and Waterways, the Argentine Ministry of Production (Provincial Directorate for Port Security) and the Buenos Aires Port, who gave various presentations on the existing projects and opportunities in the ports and waterways sector. Various port representatives from the Province of Buenos Aires also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Secretary Reyser highlighted the importance currently being placed on the economic aspect of the bilateral relationship, as demonstrated by the recent visits of public-private delegations from both countries, the upcoming economic and trade mission to Argentina to be headed by Princess Astrid in June 2018 and President Mauricio Macri’s planned trip to Belgium. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to continue strengthening the bilateral relationship.

The event ended with an enlightening question and answer session, which gave details of the Ports and Waterways sector in the Argentine Republic and the mechanisms through which to advance concrete cooperation actions.
