On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Brazil on the 201st anniversary of its independence this September 7th.

We strongly value our joint commitment to address regional and global challenges, promote social and economic inclusion, and combat climate change to create a just, equitable, and sustainable environment where all our citizens can thrive. Our diaspora communities boast rich cultures and sustain our warm people-to-people ties. Together, we can continue to strengthen our relationship grounded in shared democratic principles that ensure prosperity, security, and freedom for our citizens.
