Geographic Information   Syria has little trade from the United States. However,  if  the political situation were to change ,it would offer a number of attractions of interest to North Americans



Location: Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Lebanon and Turkey

Total borders: 2,197 km

Border countries: Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey

Coastline: 193 km 

Terrain: primarily semiarid and desert plateau; narrow coastal plain; mountains in west

        lowest point: unnamed location near Lake Tiberias -200 m         highest point: Mount Hermon 2,814 m 

Climate: The climate is mostly hot and dry in summers, with a mild rainy winter.
