A massive fire swept through a neighborhood in the Callo district of Lima, Peru in the early hours of Thursday morning destroying some 200 homes according to a local fire official.
The flames could be seen consuming whole swaths of the neighborhood in the port area of Peru’s capital city as firefighters and locals battled the blaze.
Area resident Rocio Lima said the blaze spread so fast people barely had time to leave their homes before they went up in flames.
There have not yet been any reports of casualties according to local media.
