0:27 – Currently, there are no countries listed in Germany’s high risk list. This means that the German government no longer issues explicit warnings about travel to more than 80 countries. But, only the United Kingdom, Portugal and Russia are classified as virus variant areas. So, only German citizens and non-German residents of Germany are permitted to travel back to the country from virus variant areas. It is noted that after arrival, they must self-isolate for 14 days even if they have been vaccinated or have recovered from the virus.

1:08 – Covax, is a worldwide initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19, has now directed EU member states to recognize all vaccines approved the World Health Organization as a valid proof of immunity for travel and not only those approved the European Medicines Agency.

1:28 – The global vaccination rollout and increased adoption of digital solutions for safe travel should lead to a rise in international mobility over the weeks and months ahead. As of 1 June, 29% of all destinations worldwide have their borders completely closed to international tourism. The majority of these belong to the Small Island Development States of Asia and the Pacific.
