US Imposes New Travel Ban and Visa Restrictions.

Despite of these new travel restrictions, there is a good news from State Department. United States is cancelling the Visa Prioritization. So Embassies and consulates can issue visa appointments to everyone, without prioritizing immigrant visas over nonimmigrant visas.

It will impact the visa issuance in those consulates. Any one travelling through that countries or being present in those countries, within last 14 days will be prevented from entering United states unless they are US citizens.

Good News!. Visa Prioritization Cancelled.

State Department has announced, United States is cancelling the Visa Prioritization. So Embassies and consulates can issue visa appointments to everyone, without prioritizing immigrant visas over nonimmigrant visas.
Since November 2020, posts that processed both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas were prioritizing immigrant visa applications. Embassies and consulates around the world can now prioritize visa applications at their discretion, based on local conditions and restrictions.

The Bureau of Consular Affairs will focus on reducing wait times for all consular services, in US embassies and consulates overseas. Although local conditions and restrictions at individual consular posts may continue to fluctuate, the guidance to consulates for the prioritization of consular services during the pandemic issued in November 2020 has been rescinded. Embassies and consulates can issue visa appointments to all visa categories, without prioritizing immigrant visas over nonimmigrant visas, subject to local conditions and restrictions.
