The Argentine Republic condemns once again, in the most vigorous terms, the unsuccessful launch of an intermediate-range missile on Saturday 15 October by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The repeated nuclear tests are a manifest provocation to the international community and clearly violate international obligations, especially United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013) and 2270 (2016), which address the nuclear and missile programmes of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

It is imperative that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea immediately comply with the abovementioned Security Council Resolutions and cease all hostile acts in the region, which constitute a threat to non-proliferation and international peace and security.
