Argentina and Germany consolidate bilateral economic relations

The Secretary for International Economic Relations, Horacio Reyser, received the German State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), Rainer Bomba, at the Argentine Foreign Ministry, as well as representatives from German companies and agencies such as Bombardier Transportation, DB Engineering & Consulting, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, Euler Hermes AG, KFW (IPEX-Bank), Lufthansa Consulting GmbH, Siemens AG and Thales Deutschland, among others.

Reyser, alongside the Argentine Undersecretary for Trade Promotion and Investment Development, Marcelo Lucco, presented to the German delegation the main National Government guidelines on investment promotion, namely the efforts to internationalize the national economy and the establishment of clear investment regulations.

In addition, the Undersecretary highlighted the intense legislative activity of 2016 and described the main aspects of the Public-Private Partnership Law (PPP) and the opportunities it offers for the development of new investments in Argentina, mainly in large infrastructure projects.

For his part, Secretary Bomba underscored the interest of German companies in participating in Argentine transport and infrastructure bidding, and highlighted the comprehensive nature of German bids and their competitive funding system.

Moreover, he underscored the willingness to actively participate in the various projects of the infrastructure plan implemented by the Argentine government and stressed the fact that German bids will foster local integration of components, which will contribute to the development of quality jobs in Argentina.
