Less than two weeks after announcing a quarantine requirement for vaccinated travellers from the United States, the Netherlands has reversed its decision.
The Dutch authorities have announced that some entry restrictions imposed on arrivals from very high-risk countries,
including the United States and the United Kingdom will be dropped as the government gradually facilitates entry restrictions and regulations.
According to a press release issued the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, vaccinated Americans, Britons, and other very high-risk areas can travel to the Netherlands without undergoing self-quarantine upon arrival
from 22 September.
Vaccinated travellers are obliged to present a negative test result to enter.
In addition, travellers aged 13 and older arriving plane must also complete and carry out a health declaration.
Except for the lifting of restrictions on vaccinated travellers from very high-risk areas, the Dutch authorities have ended the 1.5 meters social distancing requirement.
They also warned that bars, restaurants, and hotels could once again open to maximum capacity.
Face masks are still mandatory in airports on aircraft, trains, buses, trams and metros, in taxis and on other commercial passenger transport. Speaker Face masks no longer need to be worn in train stations, and at bus, tram and metro stops
Moreover, third dose and booster shots will be administered to those with immune system disorder, following a recommendation of the Health Council of the Netherlands.
Non-vaccinated travellers are still banned from entering the country.

A coronavirus entry pass system will be introduced for locations that
the government feels will be busy when the social distancing rules are removed.
The entry pass will be for those who are fully vaccinated, have valid proof of recovery or a negative result from a coronavirus test taken less than 24 hours before entry.
It will apply to events such as festivals, concerts and professional sports matches, cultural venues such as cinemas and theatres and bars and restaurants.
Events held indoors without fixed seating can receive up to 75% of the maximum number of visitors.
