As parts of Germany reopen for travel throughout the month of May, Germany’s Flixtrain is also getting back on track with new routes, or restarting services put on hold amid the pandemic. This is the first time since November that Flixtrain will resume operations.

The European Commission expects to finish work soon on a COVID-19 certificate that could allow citizens to travel more easily this summer between the 27-nations. The pass would allow those vaccinated, recovered from COVID-19 or with negative test results to cross borders.

In the U.S more than 37 million people are expected to travel for the Memorial Day holiday weekend which is on May 31st — a big boost from last year’s record. The number of people expected to travel 50 miles or more from home is a 60% increase from last year.

Trivago, a leading global accommodation search platform, has announced a collaboration with TUI Group, the world’s leading tourism group, to provide Trivago users with direct access to more than 55,000 excursions, activities and tickets. As trivago’s activities partner, TUI will power the new ‘Activities’ section on the trivago website.
