In this painting tutorial we have a look at how to paint a modern landscape with a dramatic brooding sky using acrylics.
Also I thought it would be interesting to paint a landscape in “portrait orientation” as supposed to “landscape orientation”. Paper or canvas orientation is the way in which a rectangular paper/canvas is oriented for normal viewing. The two most common types of orientation are portrait and landscape.

You will see me use acrylic paint as well as watersoluble cryons. I made this a timelapse video simply because there are many layers of paint and drying time in between.
The paper I use in the video is 160lb/200gram acid free sketchbook paper. But watercolor paper should work as well.
Some folks might feel a gray day is boring or not pretty at all but I want to show everyone just how beautiful a “gray day” landscape can be!
