Entry Requirements’ News in Costa Rica. It’s Dec. Friday, Dec. 11th in Costa Rica. This is michael alan of Travel Costa Rica NOW.com with some updates. Today we will discuss entry requirements, the freezing cold weather in La Fortuna Costa Rica. If you are new to Travel Costa Rica NOW’s videos and you’re thinking about vacationing/visiting Costa Rica and you’re researching the entry requirements in this day of the Covid pandemic, they are below, everything you need to know.
Costa Rica has been accepting tourists from all over the world since November 1st.
These are the requirements to enter Costa Rica as of today, December 11th:
1. Electronic epidemilogical Health Pass form can be found here- *Complete this form in the 48 hours before arriving in Costa Rica. This form produces a QR code that you will be asked to show upon arrival. **Be AWARE- Some airlines may ask for this at check-in.
2. Travel Insurance must meet these requirements and if you use an international policy you must present a letter stating:
-Guaranteed coverage of medical expenses in the event of becoming ill with COVID-19 while in Costa Rica, for at least $50,000 USD.
-Minimum coverage of $2,000 USD for lodging expenses issued as a result of the pandemic.
-Validity of the policy throughout the planned stay in Costa Rica.
**Costa Rica’s travel insurance policies tend to be on the pricier side, you can get cheaper, don’t use the CR insurance if you don’t have to.
Trawick International is an international police that offers affordable polices that meet Costa Rica’s entry requirments. You can find them here-

3. Proof (airline ticket) that you are leaving Costa Rica within 90 days. NOTE: Tourist visas are typically good for 90 days but be sure your insurance policy matches the amount of days you want to stay in Costa Rica. *If you purchase a policy that only covers you for 10 days, you will not get stamped for 90 (they know this manipulation, don’t try it.)

This actually is a great time to visit Costa Rica … except for the travel insurance bullshit 
Since there’s been few visitors these past 8 months, nature has been doing its thing and the animals are out and about and the flora is as beautiful and as lush as ever. Usually December and January, Costa Rica would be packed with tourists and we do expect a good amount of visitors soon.. but lets be real, there will NOT be as many this year, so again, a perfect time to travel to Costa Rica.
