Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie appointed ambassador Gustavo Zlauvinen as the new Deputy Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic.

Zlauvinen, a career diplomat who served as Undersecretary for Foreign Policy of the Foreign Ministry, holds a degree in International Relations and graduated from the Argentine Foreign Service Institute in 1989.

The new Deputy Foreign Minister has vast experience that led him to hold various positions in the Foreign Service, including: Director of International Organizations (2014-2016); Director and Executive Secretary of the National Authority for the Chemical Weapons Convention (ANCAQ) (2010-2014) and Permanent Representative of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the United Nations, in New York (2001-2009) He also headed the Working Group on Preventing and Responding to Weapons of Mass Destruction Attacks, of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (New York, 2005-2009).

Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie thanks ambassador Daniel Raimondi for his dedication as the head of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, which work he carried out with great professionalism in his role as Deputy Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic since June 2017.
