Gulf crisis

Argentina is following with concern the tense situation between several countries in the Middle East and Qatar. Given its close cooperation bonds with these countries, Argentina once again urges them to engage in dialogue in order to reach a solution that satisfies all parties.

Argentina expresses its support for Kuwait’s mediation efforts, as well as for the initiatives introduced by international community actors seeking to create fora for dialogue and negotiation that foster closer relations among all the countries involved.

Argentina calls for moderation and urges all countries in that region to make decisions and undertake actions in accordance with international law, so as to avoid escalating the situation and generating negative social and economic consequences for the people of Qatar, a country with which Argentina traditionally maintains bonds of friendship.

Finally, Argentina once again states that the fight against terrorism must be the main concern of the international community and urges all nations to coordinate efforts and remain united to eradicate this scourge once and for all.
