Foreign Minister Faurie received in Madrid by Spanish counterpart, Alfonso Dastis

Foreign Minister Faurie was received today in Madrid by his counterpart from the Kingdom of Spain, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis. 

During the meeting held at the Palacio de Santa Cruz, seat of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Faurie and Dastis reviewed all the issues on the bilateral agenda, relaunched in the context of a new bilateral stage since President Mauricio Macri’s visit to Spain last February.

In this regard, they agreed on the need to continue making concrete progress in order to consolidate the renewed bilateral bonds for the benefit of both peoples.

In addition, they reaffirmed the commitment of both Governments to work together in international fora, taking primarily into account the WTO and G20 meetings which will be hosted by Argentina in 2017 and 2018, respectively.

The Foreign Ministers also discussed the negotiations for a potential MERCOSUR-EU agreement and acknowledged the need to submit an agreed text in December of this year.
