The Government of the Argentine Republic is deeply shocked by the heinous attack perpetrated today in Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain.

The Argentine Republic conveys its condolences and solidarity to the Government and people of Spain, especially to the victims’ families. The historical bonds between both nations make this event all the more distressing.

Argentina once again strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and reiterates the need to strengthen the fight against this scourge, as well as to guarantee international peace and security, within the framework of international law and respect for human rights.

Argentine citizens residing in Spain are informed that the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the Kingdom of Spain and the General Consulate in the city of Barcelona have provided the following emergency phone numbers in order to respond to information and assistance requests: 00 34 696 454 723.- 0034 639 707 564
