The Argentine Republic once again vigorously condemns the allegedly unsuccessful missile launch by North Korea in the direction of the Sea of Japan from an area near the Wonsan Air Base, on 22 March, according to the information provided by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Korean Armed Forces.

This is a new act of hostility and provocation against the international community which overtly violates international obligations arising from United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016) and 2321 (2016), which address the North Korean missile and nuclear programmes.

The Argentine Republic once again urges the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to end these tests, which constitute a serious threat to international peace and security.
